DECEMBER BIRTHDAYS

This card won the 2024 Louie Award in the MOST HUMOROUS BIRTHDAY category. The Louie Award is the most prestigious award in the greeting card industry - think of it like winning an Oscar! Ok, maybe not exactly like that, but you get the idea.

We worked with Levester Joe Green II of Washington, DC to make this award winner. “I don’t envy those who have a December birthday,” he says. “My grandmother’s birthday is in December and I’ve seen how some people seem to forget about it because of all the Christmas craziness. I’ve even heard of kids who don’t get as many gifts because the parents just lump it all together into one celebration. That’s just wrong!” We agree with Levester and hope his card will help call more attention to December birthdays.

After being homeless in our nation's capital for more than a decade, we're thrilled to share that Levester now has housing. He receives 15% of the sales from this card. Second Story Cards donates an additional 10% to a charity of the cardmaker's choice. Levester has chosen St. Stephens Baptist Church in Temple Hills, MD where a young Levester used to sing in the choir!
