BICYCLE LOVE

Love arrives in many different ways - sometimes even on a bike! At least that’s the case for our cardmaker Ellie Kane. Decades before the two were properly introduced, Ellie crossed paths with her now husband, David, who is also a cardmaker with Second Story Cards. “I was finishing up my laundry at the local laundromat when a kind stranger offered to carry the load home for me on his bike,” she remembers.

17 years later, Ellie met a friendly man living in her new apartment building and, after talking for a while, they realized their connection: It was David! Ellie never forgot that early memory, knowing from the beginning that David was a genuinely kind and generous person. This has proven to be true, as the couple has been together for 24 years, continuing to “share the load” as husband and wife.

Although Ellie experienced some periods of homelessness in the past, we’re happy to share that she has had reliable housing in Nashville, TN for many years now. She receives 15% of the sales from this card and an additional 10% is donated to Daybreak Arts.
