MOTHER'S JOB DESCRIPTION

ETB1006
Regular price $5.50

“I can’t imagine doing everything a mother does,” admits Eric Thompson-Bey who came up with this card. "My mom died when I was two. I was raised by my father until I was nine and then he passed and I was raised by my five siblings – none of whom originally signed up to be a mother, so I didn’t have a lot of the things that a mom typically provides. They did the best they could, I guess, but I can’t help but think I might have not followed the path I did if she would have been alive and there to help me as I grew up. I miss her and I don’t even remember her. That’s weird, but it’s the truth.” Eric, who has been homeless several times since 1997, currently has housing and is working in the food industry in Washington, DC. He hopes to one day own his own business.

Eric receives 15% of the sales from this card. Second Story Cards also donates an additional 10% to a charity of the cardmaker's choice. Eric has chosen the Stone Soup Films for this card.
